We are now looking for an enthusiastic, competent, and efficient
Trainee (Event Production)
with good language skills and an ability to work under pressure to join us in the International Affairs Team for a full-time traineeship for the period of 14th October – 20th December 2024.
As part of the University of Oulu’s internationalisation measures, we will be organising the Global Week – a week of celebrating with people from different backgrounds and cultures. The Global Week is an opportunity to explore the world right here in Oulu without leaving the campus! The biggest event of the week is the Festival of Cultures, where volunteer teams represent their cultures with music, fashion, food, art and much more.
About the job
As an event and programme production trainee, your duties include planning and practical implementation of events that are part of the Global Week, mostly surrounding the Festival of Cultures, one of the biggest community events at the University of Oulu campuses. Your job will include pre-event preparations, event program scheduling, live support for participants regarding event equipment and practicalities. During the event week, you will be the primary support person for the event’s volunteer teams.
The intern has to be a current, enrolled student at the University of Oulu or the Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Oamk).
Who are you?
We expect from you:
- Skills to communicate clearly in pressured situations
- Good English language skills are particularly important in this traineeship.
- You must be a current enrolled student at the University of Oulu or the Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Oamk)
- The traineeship must form part of your studies. If you are selected for the position, you must confirm that you are able to include this traineeship in your studies
We also appreciate:
- Previous experience in successful event productions, planning an inspiring and smooth programme
- Experience or knowledge in event tech (microphones, screens, mixers etc.)
- Finnish skills, but Finnish knowledge is not required for this position
- Knowledge about both Oulu and the university well enough to be able to introduce them to event visitors
Salary
The position is fixed term starting from 14.10.2024 (or as agreed) until 20.12.2024.
The monthly salary will be 1646,31 euros.
