Our IT unit, Customer and Partners, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer. We focus on developing and maintaining digital solutions for If’s customers. You will belong into group developing self-service solutions for our B2B customers. Digitalisation is key in our strategy to be able to serve our customers better. About the role
The ideal candidate will be responsible for bridging the gap between development and operations, ensuring seamless integration, deployment, and management of our software applications. You will play a key role in optimizing our infrastructure, automating processes, and ensuring high availability and performance of our systems. You have an understanding what it looks like to have working devops environment and are keen on improving the processes so that developers can focus more on delivering software.
Key responsibilities:
– Facilitate collaboration and communication between development, operations, and IT teams to ensure alignment on goals and efficient workflows.
– Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, integration, and deployment, ensuring reliable and frequent software updates.
– Provision, manage, and monitor cloud infrastructure (Azure) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Bicep), ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
– Automate repetitive tasks through scripting and tool creation to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
– Manage system and application configurations for consistency across environments, including setting up monitoring and logging solutions for performance tracking and issue resolution.
– Integrate security practices into DevOps processes (DevSecOps) and develop strategies for disaster recovery, backup, and capacity planning.
– Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and continuously identify and implement improvements in the development and deployment processes.
– Document processes, configurations, and best practices, while training and supporting teams on DevOps tools and practices.
– Oversee the integration and management of various tools for version control (e.g., Git) and build automation.
About the team
You will be joining our largest squad within the Commercial Tribe, known as Iffinity. This team is dedicated to developing a self-service digital solution for If’s commercial customers. The squad consists of around 10 members, and our working language is English, reflecting the diverse cultural backgrounds of our team. While we operate in a hybrid work model, most of our developers are based in Espoo.
Who are you?
You have proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role. You have a strong knowledge of CI/CD tools and processes, excellent scripting skills (e.g. Bash, Python) and proficiency with infrastructure as code (IaC) with Bicep. We also value your experience with configuration management tools, monitoring and logging tools and Azure cloud platform. We also expect that you have a solid understanding of security best practices and compliance standards.
You also have:
– Bachelor`s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
– Excellent teamwork skills
– Strong problem-solving skills and attention to details
– Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Azure Certified DevOps Engineer etc.) and familiarity with Agile methodologies seen as a benefit
