Sampo plc is looking for an insurance business-oriented Senior Accounting Specialist to strengthen its Group accounting and financial reporting team.
Your responsibilities will consist of participating in Sampo Group’s consolidation and financial reporting process as well as Sampo plc’s financial accounting process. You will act as a deputy for the Head of Group Accounting who is responsible for Sampo Group’s financials. You will participate with the team in various process and documentation development as well as IT development projects related to financial reporting and accounting. You will cooperate closely with the other teams in Sampo related to financial reporting.
You are expected to have:
- Suitable higher education degree, such as MSc in Econ, MBA or BBA
- At least 5 years’ work experience related to group consolidation process within accounting function, audit or equivalent preferably in insurance or other financial sector
- Knowledge of IFRS-standards, Finnish Accounting Standards and other relevant Finnish statutory requirements
- Experience in IT and other development projects especially related to financial reporting and accounting
- Strong communication skills and systematic and proactive working style as well as flexibility to different tasks and responsibilities
- Proper IT skills and eagerness to learn new procedures and systems
- Full working proficiency both in Finnish and in English
Considered as an asset:
- Strong IT experience regarding accounting and financial reporting systems
- Knowledge related to taxation (income tax and VAT)
- Cash management experience

Practicalities:
This is a full-time and permanent position, and you will be employed directly to Sampo plc. The position is wished to be started in September – October 2024. You’ll work at Sampo HQ in Helsinki with a hybrid model (minimum three days at the office).
