In this role you will be designing and implementing SW to our Immersive Voice call application linking spatial audio call experience into the virtual reality visual and audio experiences consumed with head mounted devices or augmented reality glasses which will work together with a mobile phone. The tasks include UI and application engine related SW development. Also, some graphics design are included. The purpose of this job is to contribute to creation of a proof of concept to demonstrate the user experience for a spatial audio call between virtual environments and between real and virtual environments.
The intended start of this intern period of 8 months is in autumn this year, preferably from beginning of September.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
- Participating in project planning, SW architecture and design development for the concept
- Developing SW for mobile and VR/AR devices using Unity
- Creating relevant documentation, such as test plans and reports
- Testing SW and the concept with devices
- You will learn on 3GPP IVAS call, MPEG-I audio and Android OS multimedia SW stack. Continuous integration and other DevOps methods will become familiar in practice for creation of product quality tested SW.
- You will also learn how to work as a team member in a project team consisting of experienced professionals in SW development, audio algorithm development and user experience and audio testing.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience on developing SW with Unity
- Programming language skills for C#, Kotlin/Java
- Experience developing applications for mobile devices (Android, iOS)
- Familiar with appropriate version control tools for writing SW and test plans, scenarios, cases and test reports
It would be nice if you also had:
- Programming language skills for C++ and Swift
- Experience with 3D modeling SW and graphics design
- Familiar with user experience design
- Experience in using Continuous Integration and related tools in DevOps
- Familiar with Android OS audio and voice communication SW stack
- Ability to understand and follow formal specifications, such as ISO standards
