Hardware Engineer (Mechanics NPI)
We are looking for a Hardware Engineer to support our engineering team in developing and building laboratory products. This role involves working with development engineers and product managers to create and manufacture innovative automation and robotics solutions. This role is full-time and based on-site in Salmisaari, Helsinki. Due to the practical nature of the position, remote work possibilities are limited.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical accessories and other components for CurifyLabs Compounding System Solution based on customer and industrial design requirements
- Ensuring smooth and well documented design transfer from R&D to production, working with in-house colleagues and external component suppliers
- Conduct hands-on production tasks including assembly, quality control and documentation.
- Ensure cost-effective design following good DFMA principles
- Develop production process, testing methods and related tooling, measurement fixtures etc.
- Conduct troubleshooting of faulty products and systems
- Implementing and managing engineering changes in PLM system
- Responsibilities can be adjusted based on candidate’s strengths and career development goals
What will you need to be successful in this role?
- Master’s/bachelor’s degree or similar in Mechanical Engineering, production engineering, or a related field
- Knowledge of mechanical design of high-precision components, CNC machining and surface treatments. Thermoforming knowledge beneficial.
- Knowledge on some high-end 3D CAD software (we use SolidWorks)
- Some work experience (1-5 years) in similar industrial setting, optimally working in regulated environment (ISO 13485 or similar)
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, capability to use measurement tools
- Flexibility and mindset to work in a small startup team with a proactive mindset, willingness to take initiative and learn new skills
- Hands-on approach to engineering and practical knowledge in mechatronics, 3d-printing or similar area
- Basic knowledge of electrical components. PCBA/Electronics knowledge is a plus
- CurifyLabs company language is English. The role requires also a capability to communicate efficiently with Finnish-speaking suppliers when needed.
