What I will be doing?

As an Embedded Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Develop Python and C++ code for drivers and modules related to qubit control.

  • Read and interpret complex IC datasheets (e.g., very high-speed DAC).

  • Measure system functionality using oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers, and verify changes.

  • Utilize version control with Git for efficient collaboration.

  • Participate in team work planning using Scrum methodology.

What skills do I need?

You should have a strong interest in the following areas, with some skills requiring proven knowledge now, and all expected to be mastered within two years:

  • Proficiency in Python and C++ coding, including drivers and other modules.

  • Ability to read and understand complex IC datasheets (e.g., very high-speed DAC).

  • Capability to measure system functionality using oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.

  • Experience with version control using Git.

What skills are nice to have?

While not required from day one, these skills are highly valued and can be developed on the job:

  • Agile development (Scrum or Kanban).

  • Experience with Linux in embedded systems (e.g., ARM, FPGAs).

  • Familiarity with build tools like Buildroot and Yocto.

  • Linux kernel development (e.g., device drivers).

  • Digital electronics debugging and design.

  • FPGA development.

  • Digital signal processing.
