We are now looking for a Cryo Service Engineer to strengthen our team! In this role, you will be working closely with R&D teams, releasing them from routine hardware tasks. This includes the installation of quantum hardware, warming, opening, closing, cooling, and maintaining dilution fridges, LN2 refilling, including creating and maintaining service schedules; and reacting to ad hoc requests. After training, bug fixing can be included in the tasks. 

To succeed in the role, we are looking for a person who is willing to learn about IQM products, has experience in quantum computer related hardware or similar environments (HPC, data centers etc.), e.g., a dilution fridge, and has strong service thinking. They should have excellent planning skills to develop schedules of service tasks, execute those, and create and improve the related documentation. They will be hands-on users and bring back feedback and improvement ideas to the development teams.

 

What will I be doing?

  • Maintain internal IQM dilution fridges, i.e. keep them operational, including all surrounding HW and equipment, including preventive and scheduled maintenance 
  • Deliver support for external customer services
  • Develops technical support processes, practices, and systems further, including digitalization of workflows and methods
  • Execute for all required services and maintenance
  • Incident response regarding utility outages as well as L1 incident responses for online offerings.
  • Deliver support in new build of cryostats and quantum computers
  • Coordinate on new developments and provide feedback for other functions.
  • Ensuring Health and Safety in daily work.
  • Sustain the 5S ways of working

  • Problem solving of complex technical problems

  • Systems and tools knowledge: trouble ticket systems, troubleshooting tools, knowledge management systems
  • Technical knowledge: Complex computer systems, cryogenic systems
  • Verbal and written communications in English to customers, stakeholders and colleagues
  • Mentoring and training skills to colleagues and stakeholders
  • Knowledge management know-how and experience
  • Innovation experience re services, processes and products
  • Develops plans, measure outcomes and improves efficiency in standard operating procedure (SOP)
