In Valmet’s Pulp & Energy business line we serve a wide variety of customers around the world with for example complete pulp mills, heat and power generation solutions and environmental protection systems. We are now looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to work on capital and rebuild projects. Your preferred Valmet office location is Tampere, other locations (Vantaa, Raisio or Ulvila) can be considered. Our Global Quality Assurance team ensures that our project delivery meets the quality requirements to satisfy the customer, authorities and also our own high standards.
As Quality Assurance Engineer, your main tasks include:
- reviewing and understanding the customer contract
- adjusting and communicating the quality related requirements to project parties such as engineering, procurement, manufacturing and site assembly, and also to customer.
- proactively detecting and mitigating possible problems or additional requirements in all project phases
- handling nonconformities for example by asking for specialist statements, coming up with solutions and getting approvals when needed.
With your quality expertise you have a real possibility to influence project success and financial end result. With a proactive working style and the ability to look at the project over different disciplines you will be a valued partner in the project team. You will have a lot of cooperation across the organization globally, as well as contacts with customers, suppliers and authorities in different countries.
Our expectations
We expect you to have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a suitable field. You have several years of experience in engineering, manufacturing or inspections of machinery and pressure equipment. You have also experience in quality assurance in manufacturing or project business, and knowledge of Machinery and Pressure Equipment Directives. NDT (non-destructive testing) and welding knowledge are strongly appreciated.
Your personal characteristics include good communication skills, initiative and flexibility. You can co-operate in multi-cultural environment and are fluent in English, both written and spoken. You should also be able to travel internationally.
