Would you be our new Automation Engineer?

We are seeking for an Automation Engineer to join Metso Minerals Plants and Solution Delivery Function’s Automation team. As an Automation Engineer, you will be involved in automation design for plant delivery projects. In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to participate in large-scale international projects, delivering entire process control systems globally. Your responsibilities will include designing specific components, broader assemblies, or entire systems and once you gain experience you will also have the chance lead full control system projects.

This role offers significant ownership over your work; while support is available, we encourage a proactive approach where you take initiative in problem-solving and independently drive your tasks forward. Although we don’t expect prior expertise with specific tools, we appreciate the exposure for modern control system projects. What’s most important is a general understanding of how automation system projects in process industries are built and engineered.

Your tasks will be tailored to your level of expertise, ensuring that everyone is engaged in suitable and challenging work. Your office and most of you closest colleagues are located at our Espoo headquarters, but you can work flexibly from home in a hybrid model.

What are we looking for?

You are the ideal candidate if you are not afraid of challenges and want to work in an innovative and multicultural environment with cutting-edge technology. You have a relevant technical education (e.g., a degree in automation engineering) and are motivated to further develop your skills. You can either be a recent graduate or have a few years of experience in the field, but we would prefer that you have prior experience in a heavy industry environment, such as through summer jobs. Working in an international environment, you will need good verbal and written English skills for this role and any level of Finnish is considered as an advantage.

As a person, you are curious, detail-oriented, and proactive in solving problems. You can manage your own work and are not hesitant to take on responsibility. The ability to handle pressure, a flexible attitude, and a relaxed yet professional approach to work are important qualities for this position. You are eager to learn new things and have strong collaboration skills.

Why us?

We value our motivated and committed professionals. You are an important part of our highly motivated and skilled team and our shared success. We offer you an interesting and exciting work opportunity where you get to work with various stakeholders, supported by an open minded, international and friendly community of experts. You can work flexibly remotely and will be provided with excellent opportunities to develop your professional skills and knowledge as part of a cutting-edge company at the top of its industry. We want you to success and will provide you with a thorough introduction and good supportive conditions.
