Finnair Technical Operations is responsible for the maintenance and the airworthiness of the Finnair fleet. The key objectives of Technical Operations are safety, reliable flight operations and cost-efficient maintenance processes.

We are now looking for

Development Engineer

In this role you will be working as one of the development engineers in our Technical Operations (Tech OPS) Continuous Improvement team. You will be developing Tech OPS processes and digital tools in close co-operation with all stakeholders across whole Finnair organisation. Each engineer in the team has their own specializations (e.g. Lean, analytics, IT tools). One of your specializations will be our aircraft maintenance ERP system (AMOS) and you will be acting as the Main User for it. This means e.g. coordinating the development of AMOS together with the internal stakeholders and the supplier (Swiss AviationSoftware) and organizing the internal version upgrades. You will have the help of our AMOS Key User network supporting you on these tasks.

Main responsibilities:

  • Coordinating, facilitating and supporting our Technical Operations process developments.

  • Supporting the Technical Operations organisation in using digital tools.

  • Ensuring the standardisation of processes and sustainment of the standards by implementing metrics and follow-up practices.

  • Ensuring that Tech OPS processes are appropriately documented.

  • Acting as AMOS Main User.

  • Coordinating internal AMOS Support Organisation (matrix organisation, this position does not include direct supervisor responsibilities).

  • Coordinating AMOS upgrades.

  • Coordinating AMOS development.

Our expectations:

  • Suitable technical education at B.Sc or M.Sc. level.

  • Good teamwork and communication skills.

  • Fluent written and spoken English.

  • Project management and process development skills.

  • Facilitating skills.

  • Experience in coordinating ERP or IT systems development. Knowledge of AMOS is considered a benefit, but not required.

  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance philosophy and principles is considered a benefit.

  • Knowledge of process development, Lean methods, power platform, automation solutions, project management or IT systems development are considered as benefits.
