We are seeking a (Senior) Automation Engineer to join our engineering team in BA Minerals Hydrometallurgy BL. You will be responsible for automation engineering work involving wide PLC programming. Your role plays a crucial part in Hydro’s proprietary equipment delivery projects, which will contribute to successful on-time delivery. You will report to the HDR Equipment EIA Engineering Manager in this position.

 

This position is mainly located in Espoo, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. It involves up to 20-40% of travel to customer sites and workshops. 

 

We work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as project delivery teams, product owners, and customers. What you’ll do

 

  • Acts as an automation engineer in Hydrometallurgical Equipment Automation delivery projects
  • Maintain and develop PLC/PC-based and HMI software applications
  • Develop software engineering and equipment testing procedures
  • Participate in Workshop testing, Start-ups, and R&D tasks
  • Support Sales, Supply and Service

 

Who you are

 

  • You have a Minimum B.Sc. degree in automation, electrification, or equivalent
  • You have programming experience for Siemens TIA Portal and/or Allen-Bradley Studio 500.
  • You have experience with VSDs, servo drives, motion control and hydraulic and pneumatic systems 
  • You are capable of working independently and pro-actively
  • You have good cooperation skills
  • You can communicate fluently with spoken and written English 
  • Previous experience in electrification and instrumentation is an asset
