We are looking for a

 

Head of Sustainability Excellence and Development

 

to join Neste’s Sustainability Unit in Espoo, Finland.

 

Join a dynamic team that is responsible for making Neste a leader in the field of sustainability. You will contribute to transforming the way of doing business in a sustainable manner and ensuring that sustainability remains a key driver in corporate strategy. Sustainability Excellence and Development department is part of Neste’s global corporate level Sustainability Unit.

 

The team is accountable for developing and driving the implementation of Neste’s sustainability agenda and vision, i.e. climate, biodiversity, human rights and supply chain & raw materials. It also provides sustainability expertise for Neste businesses and external stakeholders, e.g. customers & investors, supporting business units in taking critical long-term sustainability views into account.

Your main responsibilities in creating a sustainable future are

  • Lead a team of experts that is accountable for developing and driving the implementation of Neste’s sustainability agenda and vision: climate, biodiversity, human rights and supply chain & raw materials
  • Ensure and drive implementation against targets and roadmaps for the sustainability vision topics
  • Enable business growth by providing sustainability support and expertise for Neste businesses
  • Contribute to the implementation of management tools to enable Neste to meet increasing internal and external expectations for sustainability data
  • Provide expertise to Neste’s sustainability reporting (CSRD/Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and other interactions with external stakeholders
  • Establish a global network around sustainability vision topics: climate, human rights and biodiversity

You will report to the Vice President, Sustainability and be based in Espoo, Finland.

 

Key qualifications

  • Relevant University Degree in a suitable area, eg engineering, natural sciences, sustainability or law
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant work experience from corporate sustainability and/or sustainability consulting
  • Experience in managing a team of sustainability experts, and excellent team leading skills to succeed in a global, cross-functional organization
  • Knowledge of different areas of sustainability and ability to lead development of complex issues with direct business impact cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated ability to build working relationships across different parts of the organization as well as with external stakeholders, representing the company in high profile external engagements 
  • Fluent writing and presentation skills in English to be able to interact with various internal and external stakeholders and deliver impactful messages to influence decision-making on different levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with courage to challenge existing practices and capability to propose new solutions in the field of sustainability

You will work closely with Neste’s business units as well as other corporate-level functions.
