Lead / Chief Engineer, Static Equipment

 

to join our Mechanical Engineering team in Porvoo, Finland.

 

You will work closely both with customer interface and our disciplines to strengthen engineering in different process and energy industry projects globally. Our work combines accountability, cooperation, and the desire to develop and renew.

We cooperate with different technology providers and support expediting and commissioning project phases in large scale investment projects. This position is located in our Technology Center in Kilpilahti, Porvoo. Partial remote working or working at our remote working office in Espoo are also possible. We organise free bus transportation to Kilpilahti for our employees from the capital region, Porvoo and the nearby areas.

Your role in our team

 

–    Act as a static- and package equipment expert to strengthen our group of Lead Engineers in a global Mechanical Engineering team.

–    Support projects in accordance with your expertise in all refinery locations globally.

–    Take Lead / Chief Engineer’s responsibility within challenging, rewarding and diverse international process and energy industry projects. 

–    Collaborate with operations and maintenance as a technical expert for all production sites.

–    Participate in bid preparation, vendor negotiations, execution planning and cost estimates of our projects.

–    Share and develop your deep know-how and technical skills along with close collaboration with our clients and global resources such as material-, process-, civil-, layout & piping departments.

 

The best combination to succeed in this role

 

–    Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a similar education.

–    Minimum 12 years of working experience in project work and solid knowledge of static equipment e.g. pressure vessels, columns, reactors, storage tanks and heat exchangers. 

–    Experience of various package equipment deliveries in Chief engineer, Project Manager or in similar key roles.

–    Experience of relevant standards, such as EN, ASME and API standards.

–    Knowledge of relevant legislation such as Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), Machinery Directive (MD) and ATEX Directive.

–    Experience in the areas for example detail engineering in manufacturing, workshop production, NDT-testing, expediting and commissioning.

–    Team player with leadership skills and technical authority.

–    Excellent collaboration and communication skills in English, both spoken and written. Other language skills are considered an asset.

–    Experience of PV Elite, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCad.

We also value a development oriented approach to guidelines and work processes and willingness to travel. Possibility to relocate internationally is considered as an advantage.
