Lead Pyrometallurgist, Rejlers – Vantaa


Due to growth, the technical design, project, and consulting company Rejlers is now seeking an experienced Pyrometallurgist to join their Industrial Process Design team for customer projects in the metal industry.

As a Lead Pyrometallurgist, you will work as part of an expert team on diverse customer projects related to process development. Your tasks will include preparing mass balance calculations, energy balances, and water balances using HSC software, as well as making equipment selections. You will participate in unique industrial investment projects from the preliminary design phase onwards. The solutions designed in these projects will have a significant impact on the operations of our customers and the surrounding world for decades to come. In addition to project work, you will support sales during the project proposal and sales phase, and you can also participate in customer meetings if desired. Customer projects vary in duration from a few months to several years, and you will work on a few projects simultaneously. You will also contribute to the development of process design tools. Based on your interest and experience, you may progress to a supervisory role. We are also looking for a Lead Hydrometallurgist for Rejlers.

You might be the expert we are looking for if you have studied pyrometallurgy and understand various pyrometallurgical processes. You have several years of experience in the field of pyrometallurgy. You can support sales, conduct research, and develop processes. You will work as part of a project team, so the role requires both teamwork skills and the ability to work independently. In addition to experience, we hope you have a passion for learning new things and developing yourself.

We expect you to have:

  • Relevant education (e.g. M.Sc. in Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering)

  • Several years of experience in pyrometallurgy and pyrometallurgical production processes

  • Experience in the metal or battery industry’s design

  • Willingness to travel

  • Good English skills

We consider an asset:

  • Previous experience in investment process design and equipment dimensioning tasks

  • Experience with HSC simulation and mass balance calculations

  • Knowledge of furnaces, autoclaves, and steelmaking

  • Finnish language skills

Practicalities:

In this permanent, full-time position, you will be employed directly by our client Rejlers. The desired starting date is in August. You can work at Rejlers’ offices in Oulu, Vantaa, Tampere, or Turku. At Rejlers, work is done according to a flexible hybrid model, but teams meet weekly at the office. The role also includes occasional travel to customer sites. Salary in this position is approximately 4000-7000 €/month.
